School Facts: Santa Clarita Christian School is a private Christian school located geographically within the Wm. S. Hart School District in Santa Clarita, California. The City of Santa Clarita, located 30 miles north of Los Angeles, has a population of 190,000. SCCS was started in 1982 and now has an enrollment of 508 students in grades K-12.
SCCS is officially registered as a private school in the state of California, is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and is a member of The Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).
School Organization: The secondary school day consists of seven class periods that are 50 minutes long. The school year is 172 days long with eleven in-service days and is divided into four quarters making up two semesters. Class sizes average between 18-25 students. With the exception of a few elective classes, all classes successfully completed are worth five credits per semester.
Faculty: SCCS has 45 full and part-time faculty members, one-third with advanced degrees. In addition to these teachers, there is one administrator, one principal, one administrative assistant, one school counselor, one nurse, a dean of men and of women, an academic dean and a support staff of approx. 40.
Graduation Requirements: SCCS requires 226 credits to graduate (California requires 220). Graduates are required to take 3 years of History, 4 years of English, 3 years of Math, 3 years of Science, 2 years of Foreign Language, 1 year of Fine Arts, and 2 years of Physical Education. Most students who attend SCCS for grades 9-12 graduate with more than 250 units.

Further Schooling: 90% of SCCS graduates continue their education at the college level. SCCS graduates have been accepted to public and private colleges and universities around the country including: USC, UCLA, UC Irvine, Cornell University, Azusa Pacific University, California State University Northridge, California State University at Davis, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, The Air Force Academy, Pepperdine University, Cedarville University, The Master’s College, San Diego Christian College, Biola University, Redlands University, Vanguard University, Harvard Law and many others.
