The mission of Santa Clarita Christian School is to partner with Christian parents of like faith to teach students’ minds and train their hearts for God through a distinctively biblical education. The SCCS Athletics Department exists to apply that mission to our sports programs. We invest in athletics because we believe sports are not recreational but a crucial part of Christian education. Athletics provide intensive avenues for discipleship that play a role in the Great Commission of Matthew 28. Because of this, we want to offer high-quality sports programs that glorify God not only through championship-level competition, but, most importantly, championship-level character development
For a small school, SCCS has accomplished amazing things in athletics. Since 2002, we have won 19 CIF-SS Championships, including Girls Volleyball, Football, Boys Basketball, Baseball, and Swim. During that time, we appeared in 6 other CIF-SS Championship games, won countless league championships, and saw myriad players selected to All-CIF lists. Perhaps most impressively, we have won 2 CIF State Titles in Girls Volleyball and Boys Basketball.
Our vision for athletics is to be intentional in how we choose coaches, invest in our sports programs, and oversee our programs. We want coaches who are experts in their field, but more importantly, coaches who are disciplers. We want to invest in our programs so that all our student-athletes’ needs are met. We want to ensure that our programs run effectively and efficiently. Our vision is to offer elite-level programs that take athletic success seriously but prize Christ-focused discipleship above all. We want to glorify God in our sports.
So, thank you again for your support and interest in SCCS Athletics. We hope our performance on the field or the court, in the pool or on the track, is God-honoring, Gospel-advancing, and demonstrates the preparation that our students and coaches have committed to.
Go Cardinals!

“Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win. Everyone who competes in the games exercises self control in all things. They then do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. Therefore I run in such a way as not without aim; I box in such a way, as not beating the air; but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.” Colossians 4:4–6
