The Athlete of the Year award is much more than a promotion of the most gifted athlete on campus. It is also much more than a promotion of the athlete that earned the most accolades in a specific year. The athlete of the year award highlights student-athletes who embody the mission of SCCS as applied to the athletics context. They are students that demonstrate champion level character and contribute to champion level competition. They are students that excelled holistically while at SCCS. In the classroom, on the field, off the field, these students were examples of the kind of people we are proud to send out from SCCS Athletics. Further, and as significant – these students participated in multiple sports each year while at SCCS, an accomplishment and attitude that we highly prize and encourage from our students.
