Mary Frank

Mary and Ethan are both 25 years old and graduated from SCCS in 2010 and got married that same year.
Mary received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Ethan received a Bachelor of Science in Biology, both from Biola University in 2014. Ethan went on to pursue his MD from Loma Linda University School of Medicine.
“I have to say AP American Literature with Matt Brown, more than any other class, prepared us both for college,” shared Mary. “Mr. Brown taught us how to write, how not to write, how to analyze ideas and perspectives that differed from our own and how to manage our time–because we had so little with all the work he gave us. Even with a Bachelor of Science under my belt, I have not taken a class as challenging as his. When I asked Mr. Brown about what I should pursue for a career, he told me in my old age I’d look back on my life with regret if I didn’t write. As usual, he was obnoxiously right.”
SCCS provided the Franks with a community that has endured years past graduation. “Several of our friends from high school attended college with us and we are still close with these alumni now,” shared Mary.
Mary is a fiction writer and her new book called Never Touched, (under the pen name Laney Wylde) will be released November 12, 2018. Ethan is pursuing Otolaryngology (Otolaryngologists are physicians trained in the medical and surgical management and treatment of patients with diseases and disorders of the ear, nose, throat (ENT), and related structures of the head and neck.) and is a resident at Loma Linda University Medical Center. They have a three-year-old son named Jackson and reside in Loma Linda. The Franks attend Emmaus Church in Redlands.
