On Thursday, the fifth-grade class volunteered at Children’s Hunger Fund (CHF) in Sylmar, helping to pack macaroni that will be added to food paks that are given to suffering children and families around the world through the local church.

“We packed 2,000 bags of macaroni, sealed them and labeled them to be shipped out,” shared fifth-grade teacher, Miss Gwinn. “We then watched a video that showed us the 26 different countries the bags of macaroni would be shipped to.”

Fifth-grader, Grace Hill exclaimed, “Is this the best day of your life, or what?!”

The mission of CHF is to deliver hope to suffering children by equipping local churches for gospel-centered mercy ministry. Since 1991, CHF has delivered food and, ultimately, hope to children and families in need in the US and around the world for over 25 years.

“This was a great service opportunity for our students,” added Miss Gwinn. “This opened their eyes to hunger locally and internationally and showed them how they can be a small part of helping others and sharing the gospel.”
